Scunthorpe Easter Egg Run - April 2026

Mark and Alan joined the "Scunny Bikers" to take part in their 2026 Easter Egg Run.  Around 200 local riders gathered together, first to visit the local Supermarket to pick up Easter eggs followed by a ride through town to deliver them to the local Scunthorpe Hospital Childrens' Ward.  This was an annual event that even made it onto the BBC Look North programme. Yet another example of bikers supporting their local communities and working to bring joy to young kids who are currently in hospital, and probably feeling quite low.

A chocolate Easter Egg can bring a smile to anyone's face, and these riders certainly managed to bring joy to a whole ward of children.  Even the nurses enjoyed the event.  Well done to Mark and Gavin for organising the event, and it was great to see Alan out and about on the back of his trike with Mark driving.

Trevor and Marion's Day Out

Trevor and Marion went for a ride out from home in Sleaford to Blyton.  It was a nice enough day, a little cold but a bright and sunny spring day. They went out along the A17 to Newark then the A1133 and A156 to Gainsborough. Finally along the A159 to Blyton and a visit to the Blyton Ice Cream Parlour.

After a Big breakfast and coffee they returned by heading to Market Rasen then diverting to Wragby because of road-works. The plan was to refuel at Horncastle but baulked at the price and headed straight back to Sleaford instead.

A nice round trip of around 100 miles, but no ice cream!

Hunstanston Light Parade 2026

A few words regarding the Hunstanton Light Parade 2026.  Lincswings had a few members there: Doug/Sue, Mark/Debbie, Martin G, David P, Mick/Helen and Jayne n Sandy. New members Tony Upson and Alan/Tracy were also there for their first event within the club. If everyone had inscribed we may have won best attended region! Maybe next year we can get our award back.

But some great news because Tony's 1800 was voted best bike by the visiting public.  Not bad as it was his first ride on the bike and his first event. I also introduced Tony to the Lincolnshire members present so hopefully we will see him and wife Jackie at the next meeting.

The Goldwing Riders group were present and it was good to see that no friction or an uncomfortable atmosphere was evident, let's hope this may continue.

All in all a great weekend, some have booked for next year already, come on Lincolnshire let's smash it next time round.

Rase Park - 1 Mar 2026

Lincswings held a Regional meeting at Rase Park, Market Rasen on 1st March 2026.  This was the first meeting of 2026 and it was good to see members all together once more.  The winter had resulted in many days of cold wind and rain so there had been little or no activity on our Goldwings since Christmas.  However, I did spot Trevor and Marion off on their Yellow Peril last month on a day trip to Skegness.

The meeting was taken up with a report from Sandy on the recent Reps meeting and our planning for this year's Wing Ding.  It was also good to welcome some new members to the Region: Alan and Tracey from Ruskington, and Tony from Moulton.  Unfortunately, Tony hadn't made it to the meeting but Alan and Tracey had shown up on their swanky new GL1800.

Sandy, reminded us that he was running for the post of Club Chairman and he asked all members to register on the GWOCGB website so that they could vote in the on-line election.

Our next Region meeting will be held at Rase Park on 17 May 2026.

Martin did a woopsie

Last year's AGM included voting for "Winger of the Year" and "Woops of the Year".
It appears that Martin managed to find himself and his GL1800 trike in a restricted lane in Hull.
This is not such a big problem until you get your photograph taken.  Now Martin is able to brief us
all on what he learned in his Speed Awareness Course.

Well done Martin
